  • Good book

It was a really good book. Some of the thoughts were a bit high-level, which isn’t bad. It was just surprising plus it’s also unfinished.
  • Starts a little slow. I almost gave up on it, but once it got moving, it moved along well.

Another good book from The guys that brought us the Expanse. I love their world building. In this book, there are a lot of characters thrown at you in the beginning. It’s a bit hard to keep them separated until their different personalities emerge.
  • Not an easy, but a fascinating and exciting read

The author trusts in the intelligence of the reader. There is much that must be inferred that the authors eventually confirm. Almost like a puzzle that you have to have faith you can complete. So don’t expect a direct narrative. That being said, it is so imaginative and I cannot wait for the next book in the series.
  • A Good Start…

I want more. As the first part of a series, it’s enjoyable on its own and also left me wanting to read the next one. It’s set up a lot of plot and I hope that future books deliver on it.
  • Super boring

Nothing like their Expanse series. This book is so boring.

Very disappointed! Very difficult to follow and understand, not at all the same writing style as The Expanse.

Good writing and an interesting concept, but it ends pretty abruptly
  • A fantastic beginning!

This is a great start to what will likely be a long epic tale of galactic war and subterfuge. Setting everything and knowing nothing. That kind of thing. I tore through this book in less than a day, I enjoyed it so much.
  • Gripping and visceral

A fine showing from the author.
