Story line plays off of Headlines

I had some trouble getting through this book. Didn’t really like any of the characters. I think the author was playing off of current headlines.
Decent

This felt like a hollywood gossip magazine and I kind of loved that about it. Illuminati vibes all the way. The book did move relatively slow even in the juicy parts but I still found it entertaining. Defiantly a fun short read, just not the most captivating or groundbreaking.
Not impressed

Very ordinary. The entire plot is unrealistic — hard to imagine this place or its characters are real.

Decent book if you are low on books to read and like mysteries and thrillers. Plot is a little silly and I wish the end explained more of the aftermath.
I couldn’t wait to be finished reading this book.

Took me a while to finish. A little far-fetched, yet some interesting sub plots at the end.
Ok

Slow beginning and unanswered questions at the end had me a bit annoyed.
Loved it!

This book was ok, but there were a couple of things that made it difficult to read.
Let me start with what I liked. First of all, the premise of the book was great. I love the idea of all these exclusive clubs, each one with its own theme, that only the most elite people can be a part of, elite people with dirty secrets. Throw in some murders and a few fun twists, and you have an exciting story! The idea of it was good, the characters were interesting, and there was at least somewhat of a resolution at the end (even if you don’t get to see it all play out, at least you know what happened).
I had two main issues, though. First of all, the descriptions of settings were unnecessarily long, to the point that I just started to skim over those parts. I can understand trying to paint a picture and establish the setting. But reading paragraph after paragraph of what columns and wallpaper and roads looked like really weighed down the story. I was reading for the actual plot, not for the architecture represented in these fictional buildings….
My second issue was that there is hardly any dialogue at all in this whole book. You will see very few quotation marks. It’s like the authors (there are two, a husband and wife writing under a pseudonym) are just talking to you. Instead of dialogue, they just tell you what someone did or thought or felt. Like, for example….instead of writing, “‘You don’t understand,’ said John. ‘Let me explain it to you,’” they would say something like, “John told him that he didn’t understand and offered to explain it to him.” It’s hard to just read a book full of description with very little interaction. If you combine that with all of the wordy explanations of buildings and grounds and the like, it made what could have been a very riveting story into a bit of a slow one. I had to mine for the action I picked it up for amongst all the other stuff that was much less interesting.
Great idea, just really needed some dialogue to break it up.
Incredible !!!!

The Club is an absolute MUST READ , The twists and turns all the way to the very end are shocking and unbelievable…
