I enjoyed the story and reading it from different characters viewpoints. The author keeps you guessing until the very end.

The book has an interesting concept, but the grammar made it hard to read and the opening scene feels rushed.

Barney Leonard loves living in Sunshine House or, as he still thinks of it, the Bockerman Hotel. In its heyday, it hosted famous celebrities whose images still haunt Hollywood dreams. Now it houses those who are close to end of life and ghosts. But does that mean someone should help them find that end quicker? Or that their ghosts should be ignored? Barney thinks neither of these options are ideal, so he calls in help in the form of the police and paranormal investigators. Will they be able to help? Or will they become casualties of the fear spreading through the old building? The story interested me though it definitely tore at my heart strings because it seems we humans forget that we can create evil by our own inaction. (That may be a bit of a spoiler that the atrocities of the Holocaust come into play in this tale.)

This book starts to create thoughts do not exist. This thought is removed from the beginning. This is a book encouraging reading from beginning to end in one day. Try it for yourself and enjoy it. Thanks!

If I didn’t have multiple responsibilities, otherwise known as being an “adult,” I would have marathon read this book. It felt like a ghost story and an investigation at the same time. There were twists. There were turns. There were moments where I was 100% certain I wouldn’t want to close my eyes to sleep. There were times where I was genuinely saying, “That’s messed up!” to myself. And then there was a sprinkling of history thrown in that reminds you of the things people are capable of. It reminded me that if you’ve “survived” something, chances are you’re not the same person you were and never will be. I do wish there would have been a more finished ending for certain angles of this story, but I also like that there’s a promise of more to come. I prefer a story to be one that can stand on its own or have a sequel, but not leave a gigantic cliffhanger. I did learn something that I had once thought wasn’t true: Women do have Adam’s apples.

A lot to keep track of, but kept it very interesting. Love that it doesn’t really end. Some realism to the story . Story from a lot of different angles.
