Good story. What I liked was it had great characters and side characters. I liked the small town atmosphere that gave this story more feelings. The writing was mature, the story was fast faced and I love the book cover. The book description pulled me in. I like the idea of a former Army Ranger coming to the rescue of a single mom who has lost her husband to the military. For the most part, that met my expectations. What I didn’t like was I felt there was a little too much emphasis on the dead spouse. This is one of those things that a little bit can go a long way and too much can distract from the new love interest. My other issue was Jesse’s thoughts vs action waged a bit of war in my head. In action, he was great. He stepped up constantly, always rushing in to help anyone and everyone. His time with Ellie’s kids was very cute and what I would want to see in a Hero pursuing a relationship with a single mom. However, he thought a little too much about not being good at relationships and not wanting one. At one point he was telling himself he didn’t want to be a dad. I understand hesitation starting something with a single mom but again, a little bit can go a long way. I definitely liked the book more than I had issues with it and would read more from this author. ARC provided by Netgalley.

Ah! I need tissues! This story will pull you straight into your heart. Pamela has given us lots of different ways to tear you apart. I love her books! Ellie is a widow with two 2 year old twin toddlers. Their dad died in Iraq. Jesse is her neighbor and he finds her in a parking lot with a car that won't start and her son who has strep. He helps her home. Ellie is a nurse part time. She finds he has been doing her outside chores. Jesse has PTSD and worries that he will be dangerous. He joined the Scarlet Mountain Resort to take care of snow and ski lifts. He is also a Ranger. Now he volunteers with Rocky Mountain Search and Rescue Team. Soon there will be a festival, SnowFest. Daisy is a curious toddler and gets away from her grandmother to check the Polar Bear hole. Of course she falls in and Jesse tries to save her. He is bringing up a previous rescue that wasn't happy. There is more here. Please keep the tissues nearby. I hope you choose to read this story. You won't regret it. Enjoy reading this book! I volunteered to read and review this book.
