So off the bat I'm giving Angela Davis's The Thanksgiving Handbook five stars, because its not just a collection of recipes you pull out once for turkey day. I say 'just' because how many books, clippings, emailed suggestions, etc., do we have that are cute to look at in the moment, and then rarely used again because we move onto the next new thing. This is not that and it's food you can eat all year round, buttermilk pie crust, hello. Of course there's Turkey (spatchcock it, duh) and sausage dressing and sides and desserts. The explanations and step by step photographs are clear, they make sense, and are entertaining to read and cook from (have made three dishes so far). And if you like pretty pictures the photography is drool worthy. Hover over the photos of the Sweet Potato Pie & Stuffed Mushrooms, my god. Get this, read it, and then weep for what you're about to devour.
